Everton sit alongside Leicester and Wolves as the three times that I am currently most excited about in the Premier League. I would absolutely forgive Everton fans themselves of not necessarily having quite the same positivity, as they have suffered from all-too-familiar false dawns in recent times.

But if you look through Everton’s team, the talent present really does speak for itself. Pickford may have his questionable moments but is a top-quality keeper, in Coleman and Digne they have two of the more consistent fullbacks around and in their attacking midfield and attack they have an absolute embarrassment of riches.

I have already expanded upon the Alex Iwobi signing in my Arsenal preview earlier – but that is one that could expand out the exciting attacking flair that Everton already have in the shape of Richarlison and Bernard.

In Moise Kean they made one of the bigger splashes we have seen in the last few years – not necessarily just in the big name signing, but in the surprise that it was Everton that snapped him up. Having seen a few of his appearances at Juventus, I cannot wait to see him in the Premier League, and on a personal level I am pleased for the youngster that he was given an exit from the toxic racist atmosphere he had to endure in Italy.
